Caunce O'Hara & Company was established in 1995; a privately owned, independent commercial insurance Broker based in Manchester, employing some 28 staff and placing around £20m in gross written premium across the Lloyds and composite insurance markets.

The Directors have a combined 50 years experience in the insurance broking industry with Martin previously a Director of a Warrington brokerage and Chris formerly the youngest ever Director of a national brokerage.

We have a committed, enthusiastic and experienced workforce who are client focused.

A special culture and ethos based on teamwork and commitment to excellence exists in the company which is why FSA Regulation has been embraced by the whole organisation with such enthusiasm.

The client base is 99% corporate customers, with their turnovers ranging from £1m to well over £300m.

Some Client businesses are privately owned, whilst others are quoted on the Stock Exchange.

Our insurance programmes are mainly placed in the UK but some are overseas, to cater for Clients whose businesses demand this. The company places great emphasis on developing an excellent Client relationship, and in educating Clients on the importance of risk management, which can have a direct effect on the premiums they need to pay. A small personal lines facility complements the commercial book as an added value service to company Directors and their families.

The company is very much marketing led, and offers lateral and innovative insurance solutions, focusing on service, commitment and energy as its main differentiators. In addition, and to complement our city centre presence, great emphasis is placed on developing and maintaining excellent relationships with insurance underwriters to ensure that our proposals receive maximum priority coupled with the very best rates and covers. The company is very highly thought of by the insurance community, enjoying a reputation matched by very few other Brokers.

The company has achieved excellent growth over the 12 years since formation in 1995, and now has ambitious expansion targets to meet over the forthcoming 3 and 5 year planning terms.
